Gym Battle Winners
Randomly, between 6-9pm, We are going to check our two closest gyms at three different times. The top 3 people in each gym, at the time our judges make checks, will win a prize. That means there can be up to 18 Gym Winners who take home a prize. With so many people competing for gyms at the same time, we expect the gyms to turn over dozens of times. Winning a gym prize is as much about chance and luck as it is about skill. If you are a winner, we will have your Trainer Name and announce it at the award ceremony at R Beach, which starts at 9:30 PM.
This should go without saying, however, only put your Pokemon into a gym after you get the "You Win" notice from the game. Quickly take a quick screenshot of the "You Win" notice to prevent any debate that you took over the gym fair and square. Put a Pokemon into the gym immediately. We suggest the screenshot because if someone claims that you unfairly took the gym, you will have proof that you were honest. Remember, this is all in fun. There are plenty of ways to win prizes. You will be disqualified from all prizes if you swipe a gym from the rightful winner.

Beginner POKEMON GO TIPS
- You visit a Pokestop to get important items you need to play the game at no cost. Examples of these items are pokey balls, potions, revive, eggs, incense, and lures, and razz berry.
- You can revisit a Pokestop after a short period of time, usually around 5 minutes. After you visit a Pokestop, it will turn pink. Once you are able to get more supplies from a Pokestop, it will turn blue.
- You’ll find different Pokémon in different areas—water-type Pokémon will show up near bodies of water, for example, while grass-type Pokémon can be found in parks.
- The Pokemon you find will be stronger and have a higher power as you level up in the game. A green ring around the Pokemon means an easy catch, a yellow ring means a harder catch, and a red ring means a difficult catch.
- Whenever you catch a new Pokemon, you also earn candy and stardust. You can use candy and stardust to make your Pokemon stronger.
- It's OK to catch duplicate Pokemon. If you have to many you can transfer unwanted Pokémon to the professor for more candy.
- You can not fight in a Gym until you reach at least level five.
- At level five, you can pick your team. Your choices are teams Valor (Red), Team Mystic (Blue), and Team Instinct (Yellow).
- You fight in the gyms to win coins, stardust and experience point. It also helps your team become stronger.
- If you want to catch more Pokemon, you can use Incense or Lures. Incense attracts Pokemon to wherever you are, but only attracts them to you. Lures also attract Pokemon, but attracts them for everyone. Lures can only be set at a Pokestop. To set a Lure, you tap the small white box on the top of the Pokestop Circle. Then tap the lure.
*The local police have warned some Pokemon Players against loitering. Try to limit your time at any location to 5 minutes or less unless you are a customer ordering food or drinks. Get your pokeyballs, win your gym and move on to the next stop. We want to be able to do something like this again, so let's respect the local community. *
